Carbon fiber is a thin filament made up of carbon atoms organized into a crystalline structure. Because of its very high stiffness and strength, it is widely used in the aerospace and automotive industries. In three-point bending, our 3D printed carbon fiber is 8x stronger than ABS and 20% stronger than the yield strength of aluminum.<\/p>\n<p>Carbon fiber is strong enough to replace aluminum at half the weight; use it when you want superior stiffness and minimal deflection.\u00a0Carbon fiber has a flexural strength of 470 MPa (68 ksi) which is 20% higher than the yield strength of 6061 aluminum.
